About JAXSON: Meet Ashley and Jaxson Jefferson

The CEO and Co-Executive Director of JAXSON, Ashley Jefferson is most affectionately known as “Jaxson’s mommy.” Jaxson Jefferson, the adventurous and charismatic youngster, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 22 months of age. Having gotten this diagnosis just as the COVID-19 pandemic decided to rock the world to its core didn’t adversely impact how Ashley and Jaxson proceeded forward to ensure that he would grow to be the independent, well-rounded, lovable bundle energy that he is today.

This mother and son duo have experienced many projects and endeavors as a team. Their focus on autism spans from homeschool to traditional school to classroom in the park.

With Jaxson’s fascination of all things cars, monster trucks and water, Jaxson spends a great deal of time constructing ramps and processing wonderful ways for transportation to navigate the adventurous spaces of any hallway, kitchen counter, or outdoor trail. Ashley and Jaxson pray to empower, educate and expose the world to the amazing possibilities available to every child on the autism spectrum, every family member who loves an autistic child, and the communities that support them both. The belief that all things are possible propel their ambitions to serve others as they believe that parenting is not always easy, but every parent was graced for their journey!

XOXO- Ashley and JaxAlex

More about Jaxson

JAXSON was born out of love, determination and unshakable belief that exists where others see limits.  Much like many other autism parents, Ashley was told what Jaxson “wouldn’t” and “couldn’t” accomplish all before the age of 2.  As Jaxson was diagnosed with autism just as the world closed to the COVID-19 pandemic, her need to support her toddler and gain more knowledge about his diagnosis heightened and led her to take immediate action.  Being non-verbal, Ashley immersed Jaxson in many therapies and experiences that he quickly absorbed and adapted as a routined part of his life.

Ashley’s advocacy extended beyond her son, Jaxson. She began creating a curriculum and sharing strategies with other parents, building a bridge between desperation and hope. What began as a fight for Jaxson’s independence and wellness transformed into a dedicated mission to inspire parents and caregivers navigating autism and intellectual delays with their special loved ones.  Jaxson’s silence and became clarity and a movement leading to JAXSON- a dedicated no profit geared to empower, educate and give exposure to the autism community and the world.
